Nexcoyotl means wolf in Nahuatl. Kuetlachtli means the wolf that attacks which is the Mexican wolf. In Pre-Hispanic cultures, the wolf is an animal for rituals and sacrifices and a war symbol related to royalty and power. This drawing is based on Beau’s mask titled: Kwaguilth Wolf Mask. This drawing represents the power, royalty, and the fight of our cultures against past and current colonial impositions.
