Transformation is one of the most powerful elements of Northwest Coast cultures. The Raven is responsible for the creation of the world as we know it. The Raven Transforming into human symbolizes the recreation of oneself, a new beginning, with a knowledge of the past and a hope for the future. In taking human form, the transformation shows the willingness to humble oneself to the adventure of a new form, a new being, a new life.
