In the Kwakwaka’wakw Winter Ceremony, natural elements are personified. The Weather Dance series represents the forces of nature that control our everyday lives. Sun, Moon, Wind, Thunder, and Weather, among others, are all portrayed with masks during this ceremony. This Wind Mask, in particular, means a lot to Beau Dick’s family as his daughter, Geraldine, dances the Wind Mask in the Big House.
