Untitled by George Littlechild (Cree) Acrylic on paper 53" x 36 1/2" $8,000.00

Original size is 600 × 617 pixels

The artist best describes the nature of his work: “I envision, I rely on the intuitive, the spiritual, the emotional. To tell stories through my art. I am a storyteller, a visualist. A conveyer of messages…[sic]” This painting encapsulates several key hallmarks of Little Child’s striking style. The first element which tends to draw attention is his eye-catching use of vibrant, lively colours. There is also a mask-like quality to his depiction of facial features. Several elements of this piece echo his Cree roots, including the presence of a horse and the ceremonial face paint.
