Generational knowledge flows like water between kin. Sometimes the substance of what we receive lies in what is revealed by the movement. Blockages of energy can say as much about who we are as our intentional expressions. We celebrate the expressions of our cultural customs, and we also recognize the ways the intended cultural genocide through the colonial project has promulgated exponential cultural diversity among Native people. We carry the spirit of water. Water inevitably finds the most efficient path from its source to the sea — and the tide will bring it back over and over again to excavate, turn, polish, and shape our futures.
