Beaded with precision and intimacy, this work brings together white costume gloves, horsehair, Michif woman’s hair and personal materials, presented resting on squares of green turf, evoking both performance and absence. The piece reflects on identity as something worn, staged, and at times misappropriated. Murray extends an ongoing critique of the shifting meanings of Métis identity, where cultural signifiers risk becoming detached from lived experience, community, and accountability.
