Artist statement: Across this painting you see a gathering on a stage, where my moshom fiddles, my auntie plays guitar, and my family members walk and take turns jigging. Jigging as a traditional dance on my Métis side, you can see feet in the midst of a jig and a fancy step. There are bells and hair pipes that are sewn onto the canvas front, again, creating a semiotic reference to time and place.
