Identity is a powerful tool that can be used to root oneself in their surroundings in relationship with others. But what happens to the identities of individuals and groups of people when structures of power parse identity into quantifiable pieces? Disjointed Raven is the partial face of the artist, looking through the painted formline wing of Raven, her moiety and one of her clan crests. The living face is the final note in a fading descent of identity described by a depiction of bones. Block printed sugar skulls are adorned with painted formline beak, tail, and wing.
