Artist statement: A painting of young family members playing outside. They play, they climb, they smile outside. I adorn the paintings with materials that you would find in our home: ribbons, hides, and sweaters create a tactile environment while toeing the line of abstracted and somewhat unfinished. It has the ability to create these moments of coming to, but also going of. They are in rubbers and rubber boots, fur hats, and a spider man costume. A combination of attire that bridges our classic bush attire and childlike whimsy!
