Representing the Hamat'sa Dancer, Ta-Nis is a two-dimensional representation of Beau's striking art form. Beau Dick was an initiated Hamat'sa Dancer himself, so the print can be interpreted as an expression of Beau's role as a participant. Cedar and cedar bark are used in the Hamat'sa dance, and we can see green cedar boughs and the dancer in full garb here.
