Carved at an immersive scale, The Knowledge Keepers draws viewers into a flowing, aquatic composition that feels alive with movement. Rande Cook layers seafoam green and teal forms with deep cobalt and sky blues, punctuated by fine red linework, allowing the warmth of red cedar to glow beneath the surface. A beaver face emerges from the upper field—an emblem of strength, resourcefulness, and transformation—while a salmon egg motif appears at left, linking the work to cycles of life, water, and sustenance. Sweeping forms evoke kelp drifting in the current, carrying story and knowledge forward.
