HARRISON MARTIN

Harrison Martin is a Nisga'a and Tsimshian artist. Born in Vancouver, Martin practices in carving and sandblasting pieces using traditional and contemporary designs. He began carving in high school after being given a set of tools by his grandfather. In 2021, he was one of seven emerging artists awarded the YVR Art Foundation's Emerging Artist Scholarship. Since then, Martin has been working and apprenticing under Rande Cook while continuing to develop his own practice and style.
