With this piece I was excited to work with the extra depth in the material. Thanks to my dad for providing a good road map for me and guidance on this piece when I needed directions. This is one of the more sculptural panels that I have completed (the material allowing for the emphasis of three dimensional space, in addition to layout and design). The frog is one of my favourite beings to portray, and having the opportunity with this piece to express him from a different perspective was very enjoyable. During my work on this piece, my child was still in the oven, so to speak. We could feel a bum sticking out prominently through mum’s belly. After he was born my son retained this go-to position, and his likeness to Lil Froggy while curled up on his mum’s chest one day made me smile. - Kyran Yeomans
